People across all 16 FIFA World Cup host cities are resisting the commercialized, imperialist mega-event machine. Some are protesting and boycotting FIFA and the World Cup hosts directly. Some are highlighting the communities that are negatively impacted by mega-events, and supporting and celebrating their struggles. Some are reclaiming the world’s most popular sport for the people.
The People’s World Cup Program is NOlympics LA’s growing list of community events that we see as collectively counter-programming the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
